Katie & Andrew July 27, 2013
He thinks my dad’s tractor’s sexy. Katie grew up on a Hobby Farm and showed no fear about a dirty dress hem when it came to photos on her wedding day. Katie and Andrew started their day in a beautiful church in Windsor, moved on to her Dad’s fantastic farm for photos, and then onto a shipyard in Avondale for their reception. They had my attention when they chose a Mark Knopfler song from the movie “Princess Bride” at the church. i worked hard to keep up with the six children under 3 years old in their wedding party during photos. (How cute are those suspenders and bow ties, and the MOB made all the girls dresses). The reception hall that their family worked hard on to turn into a wedding venue just oozed charm and their MC’s could not have been funnier or more welcoming. The evening ended with one heck of a dance, or as my grandmother used to say “a time”. Nannie Hayter used to tell stories about how they’d throw dances out in Terrance Bay by laying down some plywood and building a dance floor out in the field, get some fiddles and “have a time”. Well, this is just what happened at Katie and Andrew’s wedding. There weren’t any fiddles, but Andrew dove in and dug out the garder to Montell Jordan’s “This is how we do it” while roaming DJ lights lit up the plywood dance floor. I was touched to be a part of that kind of a wedding day. Thanks for including me, Katie and Andrew!
