Joy & Kirk July 30, 2016

Kirk and his daughter Paige are long time friends of mine. Joy is newer in my life, and Fife at five months old is new to everyone. As a couple Joy and Kirk seem unstoppable, planning a wedding, having a baby and renovating the home they are living in. Joy, you are a superwoman for all of the above mentioned reasons but also because you looked beautiful and well rested, Kirk looked super happy all day long, and Paige got the wedding of her dreams at 9 years old. As a fellow parent I often struggle to maintain a balance between being mom and “all in” for my kids, and protecting the grown up Kate I started out as. These two do that very well. Case in point: After the first dances the kid wedding guests dominated the floor (while the parents tried to keep up) as the DJ dropped “Watch Me (Whip/ Nae Nae)” Not to be outdone by their children, however, the parents took the floor back on Journey’s “Don’t stop Believing”. Joy and Kirk, hold onto that rocker hands up, air guitar playing feelin’ during the less sparkly times in your married life, it looks good on you.
