Halifax Dance’s Opera Ball 2016 January 1, 2016

While I am loving a good rest and some dedicated family time in the “off season” it was a welcome break to head off to Halifax Dance’s annual fundraising event, the Viennese Opera Ball for 2016. The living statues, the sparkling dining hall, and great performances by Symphony Nova Scotia, the National Ballet of Canada, and the Vienna Boys Choir. My mom happened to get in on this gig with me. She closed her eyes while listening to the boys, and then screwed up her courage to go say hello to Karen Kain. I, meanwhile, worked furiously to keep all the twirling in focus, and chronicle those fantastic “thinking faces” and resulting moments of joy, when the floor opened up to the guests for a proper waltz.
