Emily & Christopher August 22, 2015

So I ran into Father Bernie at Emily & Christopher wedding at St Benedict’s here in Halifax. Father Bernie remembers me from when I was a child in church, and I won’t say how many years ago that was for both of us! I have not covered a full mass wedding in quite some time, have to say it was nice to “relax” during the slower pace, and reflect on weddings and family. Emily and Christopher hold the record for number of grandparents in attendance, all happy to be there, handing out hugs and smiles. Parents were aplenty, as Chris has a “complicated” family tree he embraces. Beyond that, their reception room was full guests that, related or otherwise, make up the couple’s “family”. It was great to see, and be reminded me that we can choose who to surround ourselves with, and create the family that celebrates in the good, and holds us up in the bad. Well, August 22 2015 was a good day for Emily and Chris, and I was happy to be a part of it.
