Emily & Alex September 19, 2015
So I got a little lost finding Emily’s parents home for “getting ready” fun in Lunenburg. I blame Google Maps. But a quick stop to ask some locals, and a phone call, and i was at their front door, still on time! The rest of the day was smooth sailing, pun intended. Emily & Alex grew up in Lunenburg, and decided to roll the dice on an outdoor wedding, on the Zwicker Wharf. There were over a hundred guests, and likely more tourists watching from nearby docks, boats, restaurant decks, and side streets, all looking down on the ceremony site. I’m telling you now, no word of a lie, you could hear a pin drop when the ceremony started. All the locals, tourists and even the motor boats, it seemed, stayed quiet during the vows. It was amazing. That does not happen in the big city. After that we tooled around the King Street area, and then off to an amazing property literally in the middle of nowhere. Emily wins the prize for best mosquito endurance. She was super brave, and super bit by the time we headed onto the reception. Jeff and Cindy from Crossfire Music Productions turned the Lunenburg Community Centre into a dramatic and charming celebration space. Not a trace of the gym the birde and groom played high school ball in together. Keeping up with all Emily and Alex had planned, seeing all the hometown touches they wanted everyone to experience was great fun. I’m glad i had bug spray, and Emily, I’m glad the After-Bite worked.
