Hilary & Stephane | Halifax Wedding Photography October 30, 2020
This wedding season has witnessed re-imagining, and Plan B’s, C’s and D’s enacted by couples who chose to charge bravely ahead and celebrate their big day during Covid. After 20 years of shooting, it takes a lot to get me emotional behind the lens but Father Paul did. 15 of us sitting inside a huge church, talking about the importance of social connection and the power of love during these challenging times-I fought back a few tears. While wearing masks and staying distanced when necessary are new wedding day elements this year, the others remain. Including the ones you love, remembering what is important, and not sweating the small stuff. Highlights of the day included a quick stop to Nanny’’s house so she could see the dress, and a gaggle of friends watching the ceremony in the church parking lot from a guest’s live stream inside the church. I heard a huge cheer and honking horns outside when the couple kissed. That, my friends is how you “pivot” during a pandemic. Hilary and Stephane, I am so grateful to witness that kind of commitment and moxie.
