Never have I ever, in 22 years of photographing weddings, had a processional start with Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” A Hawaiian shirt-clad duo warmed the crowd with interpretive dance moves and threw drinks to guests from a wagon cooler they wheeled down the aisle. From beginning to end Christy and Jeff set the tone for their inspired and original celebration, making their guests feel relaxed and welcome. Welcome to be themselves and feel the real connections of everyone involved. Welcome to eagerly partake in bridesmaids yielding tequila-filled waterguns. Welcome to offer boisterous Chewbacca and Lil Jon impersonations to get them to kiss. And welcome to sing along with the groom while he watched his dad dance with his bride as the sunset on the most perfect day.
