Adrienne & Scott, & Grace | Halifax Westin Wedding October 4, 2017
Adrienne and Scott have earned their happy ending, because their wedding day itself was a bit of a challenge. Grace is a lovely girl, but is also a reflux baby and decided to throw up between the church and the park all over mommie and daddy’s big day. Luckily a back up dress was bought, because……we mamas are smart and good at this game! Clean up, feeding, and some extra snuggles may have cut into our photo time but were necessary, and boy howdy did we all work hard to carry on and stay positive. Grampie hustled with a capital H, up and down and up and down, wrangling and entertaining Grace. All the moms kept eyes on each others kids, full grown or toddler, and the wedding party rallied around the couple like it was just another day. Adrienne and Scott used their walk in the park to shift from being crisis management parents to being connected and committed husband and wife as well. That is a challenge to do on any normal Thursday night with a 9 month old, but inside the chaos of a wedding day it’s even harder. Adrienne took a breath, Scott grabbed a beer, and they found each other again. Thank you for that guys, some of my favourite shots are the more relaxed and honest candid “give her a big bear hug” reactions from Scott. As I learned from their toasts as kids Scott liked to binge on Sour Patch Kids and roast chicken chips, and our bride dreamed of being a princess. But not any princess, She-Ra Princess of power. Well you both deserve a good junk food binge and Girl, the way you handled your Grace with such grace, you are She-Ra! All the while rock-in Michael Kors sparkly shoes.
